REVIVE project kick-off meeting in Spain: turning ideas into action

The REVIVE project officially kicked off in Spain, on 17–21 November – and what a powerful start it was! Bringing together an international and interdisciplinary team, the meeting marked the beginning of a journey to explore how entrepreneurship and innovation can help restore ecosystems in the face of depopulation.

Beyond the productive discussions, one of the most impactful parts of the kickoff was stepping outside the meeting room. The team visited depopulating towns in western Spain (Argujillo and Fermoselle), where theory met reality. Walking through these communities, listening to local voices, and engaging with grassroots initiatives offered invaluable insights into the everyday challenges- and the remarkable resilience- of rural areas.

These visits became true learning spaces: moments where project partners exchanged ideas, questioned assumptions, and drew inspiration directly from local experiences.

This kickoff was more than a starting point – it was a reminder of why REVIVE matters. Motivared by grounded in real-world perspectives, the project now moves forward with a fresh purpose.

Excited for what comes next.
